People pay attention to what helps them, teaches them, or moves them.
If you’re building a startup and you’re not ready to burn cash on ads, you have three real options:
Become the face people trust. Build a personal brand. Share what you’re learning, what’s working, what’s failing. People follow people before they follow companies.
Create content that actually serves, not polished promotions—real value. Teach something useful. Break things down. Say something worth remembering. Your product is not the headline. The audience is.
Earn attention through others' partnerships. Referrals. People talking about you when you’re not in the room. That only happens when what you’re building is genuinely worth sharing.
Here’s the part most don’t like:
There is no shortcut.
You don’t “hack” attention. You earn it—over time, through consistency and value.
Ads can scale what works. They won’t fix what doesn’t.
So before you ask how to get more reach, ask yourself:
“Why should anyone care?”
Answer that well—and growth gets a lot easier. Ignore it—and no strategy will save you.
